The measurements are independent of the root canal environment. Electrolyte, blood or salt solution do not affect the measurement result. The measurement does not depend on the thickness of the file. The liquid crystal display shows the depth of the tooth's root canal, both numerically and schematically. The sound change during the measurement indicates the position of the file in the root canal. The device is charged using dry electric batteries. The power consumption of the device is very low, so the batteries will last a long time.
Functions:
The scale is divided into 10 levels, each corresponding to 0.1 mm of peak area. The yellow zone corresponds to the narrow zone at the apex of the root canal. The 5 yellow zones are called the narrow apex zone. This means that the distance is 0.5 mm. If necessary, this initial data can be adjusted using the function button. You can define more or less than 5 yellow levels as narrow zones. To set the desired data, you only need to press the narrow zone length adjustment function button. While the instrument is turned on, some yellow squares light up. The numbers on the LCD screen indicate the distance between the file and the apex of the root canal. When the numbers are 0.5 mm, the scale indicates that the file has reached the area of the yellow squares, if the 5 yellow levels are initially set as narrow peak areas. In this case, you must stop probing the root canal. This means that the file has reached the narrow apical area of the root canal. Below the yellow levels are two red levels, indicating that the apex is perforated. A continuous alarm sounds when the file reaches within 0.2 mm of the apex of the root canal.
